SUMMARY:Installation of LCMS president\, vice-presidents\, secretary and board members
DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) will hold a Service of Installation for LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison\, the six regional vice-presidents\, the LCMS secretary and several officers and board members at 7 p.m. Friday\, Sept. 18\, at Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis (CSL). \n\n\n\nThe service\, which will be held in CSL’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus\, will follow the Order of Vespers. The public is invited\, and a brief reception will follow. \n\n\n\nHarrison was elected to a sixth term as LCMS president in June. LCMS First-Vice President Rev. Peter Lange\, Secretary Rev. Dr. John Sias\, and four of the five regional vice-presidents were also re-elected at the 2026 LCMS convention\, which took place July 19–23 in Phoenix.  \n\n\n\nIn addition\, the Rev. Dr. Alfonso Espinosa was elected vice-president of the West-Southwest Region\, replacing the Rev. Dr. Scott Murray\, who is retiring. \n\n\n\nNewly elected or re-elected members of the Synod’s Board of Directors\, Board for National Mission and Board for International Mission will also be installed during the Sept. 18 service. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, members of the boards for the Concordia University System\, LCMS Foundation\, Concordia Plan Services\, Lutheran Church Extension Fund\, Concordia Publishing House and Concordia Historical Institute will be installed. \n\n\n\nMore information will be shared as it is available. Tom Eggebrecht\, Senior Vice President-Ministry Solutions of LCEF\, and learn the eight key traits of a self-sustaining congregation in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. From pastoral care to lay leadership\, from ministry plans to facilities and finances\, it’s all part of impactful Gospel proclamation inside the walls of the church and beyond into the community. \n\n\n\n The thought-provoking gathering is for both pastoral and lay leaders with a desire to faithfully proclaim\, “Christ is risen\, indeed!” in this generation. Mark Frith will be joined by Focus on the Family’s Timothy Goeglein as they share the work of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty\, speaking to the challenge of being a “Church in the Public Square” for the sake of the Culture and the Mission of the Church. \n\n\n\n\nThe conversation will include issues concerning religious liberty\, the sanctity of life\, marriage\, and educational freedom while positing the wonderful\, present opportunities for the Church’s moral and Gospel voice to be useful in God’s hands for the sake of His preserving and saving work.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAttendees will also hear about the LCRL’s “Champions for Liberty” Network of Churches and receive Goeglein’s latest book\, What Really Matters: Restoring a Legacy of Faith\, Freedom\, and Family. \n\n\n\nThe luncheon will be limited to 50 people.
