DESCRIPTION:October historically has been the Synod’s designated month for showing appreciation to our church workers\, who serve us in a multitude of ways as they preach\, teach and care for God’s people in body and soul. \nIn 2024–2025\, we have planned a year’s worth of observances to highlight the many different kinds of workers who serve the church and to give thanks for all of them and the indispensable and sacrificial work that they do: \n\nOct. 13 — Pastor Appreciation\n\n\nOct. 25 — Deaconess\, Director of Family Life Ministry\, Director of Christian Outreach\, and Director of Church Ministries Appreciation\n\n\nApril 28 — Director of Parish Music Appreciation\n\n\nMay 5–9 — Teacher Appreciation\n\n\nJune 26 — Director of Christian Education Appreciation\n\nOn Oct. 25\, we will continue our year of church worker appreciation observances by thanking God for four commissioned (auxiliary) offices that support the work of the Holy Ministry: deaconess\, director of family life\, director of Christian outreach and director of church ministries. \nThe LCMS offers suggestions and resources to show your gratitude and support for your church workers. \nView resources \n\nLCMS Worker Wellness\n\nlcms.org/worker-wellness\nworkerwellness@lcms.org\n\n  \nSet Apart to Serve — LCMS church work recruitment initiative\n\nlcms.org/set-apart-to-serve\n\n\nsetapart2serve@lcms.org
