SUMMARY:FORO — Dominican Republic
DESCRIPTION:LCMS International Mission will host a FORO about mission work in the Dominican Republic on Sept. 4-6\, 2026. \nWhat is a FORO?\nA FORO — Spanish for “forum” — fosters relationships between missionaries serving on behalf of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) and mission partners. The meetings facilitate networking\, start conversations\, and focus resources to make disciples of all nations for generations to come. \nWhen do FOROs occur?\nOnce or twice a year\, LCMS missionaries meet with partners — people from churches\, organizations\, schools\, and partner churches — in their mission field. They discuss strategies to make disciples\, address community needs\, emphasize mutual listening\, and encourage shared decision-making. \nWhy are FOROs needed?\nMissionaries don’t only need funding and volunteers. Missionaries need relationships. They need support networks. They need people to walk with them\, pray with them\, listen to them\, learn from them\, and stand with them. DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Board of Directors is scheduled to meet on Sep. 17-18\, 2026\, in St. Louis. \nThe Board of Directors is the legal representative of the LCMS\, and it is the custodian of all the property of the Synod — directly or by its delegation of such authority to an agency of the Synod. \nThe BOD exercises supervision over all the property and business affairs of the Synod\, except in those areas where it has delegated such authority to an agency of the Synod or where the voting members of the Synod\, through the adoption of bylaws or by other convention action\, have assigned specific areas of responsibility to separate corporate or trust entities. \nIn such circumstances\, the BOD retains general oversight responsibility as defined in Synod Bylaws.

SUMMARY:Installation of LCMS president\, vice-presidents\, secretary and board members
DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) will hold a Service of Installation for LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison\, the six regional vice-presidents\, the LCMS secretary and several officers and board members at 7 p.m. Friday\, Sept. 18\, at Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis (CSL). \n\n\n\nThe service\, which will be held in CSL’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus\, will follow the Order of Vespers. The public is invited\, and a brief reception will follow. \n\n\n\nHarrison was elected to a sixth term as LCMS president in June. LCMS First-Vice President Rev. Peter Lange\, Secretary Rev. Dr. John Sias\, and four of the five regional vice-presidents were also re-elected at the 2026 LCMS convention\, which took place July 19–23 in Phoenix.  \n\n\n\nIn addition\, the Rev. Dr. Alfonso Espinosa was elected vice-president of the West-Southwest Region\, replacing the Rev. Dr. Scott Murray\, who is retiring. \n\n\n\nNewly elected or re-elected members of the Synod’s Board of Directors\, Board for National Mission and Board for International Mission will also be installed during the Sept. 18 service. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, members of the boards for the Concordia University System\, LCMS Foundation\, Concordia Plan Services\, Lutheran Church Extension Fund\, Concordia Publishing House and Concordia Historical Institute will be installed. \n\n\n\nMore information will be shared as it is available.
