Yet\, the glory of the Lord is saving grace\, and with “a burning coal” from the altar the angel touched Isaiah’s lips\, removing his guilt (Is. 6:6–7). Likewise\, from the altar of Christ’s cross\, by the ministry of the Gospel\, “the whole earth is full of his glory” (Is. 6:3). For He was crucified\, died and was buried\, “according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God\,” and God “raised him up\, loosing the pangs of death” (Acts 2:23–24). He “received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:33)\, and He raises up the fallen world by pouring out His life-giving Spirit upon sinners through His earthly Means of Grace. DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Colloquy Committee for the Pastoral Ministry (CCPM) is scheduled to meet on June 27-28\, 2024 in St. Louis. \nThe four-member committee is chaired by the LCMS first vice-president and includes representative from both LCMS seminaries and a member from the Council of Presidents\, according to Synod bylaws. \nThe CCPM meets approximately five times throughout the year to examine applications\, interview eligible candidates and manage the policies and practices of the colloquy process.

SUMMARY:2024 Institute on Liturgy\, Preaching and Church Music
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Institute on Liturgy\, Preaching and Church Music will take place July 9-12 at Concordia University\, Nebraska (CUNE) in Seward\, Neb. \nThe Institute\, which is being presented by LCMS Worship\, returns under the theme\, “Songs of Deliverance: Psalms in the Great Congregation.” \nWith the Psalter as its focal point\, this conference will feature fresh and perennial topics on music\, leadership\, preaching\, pastoral care\, art and spiritual growth in Lutheran worship. \nParticipants will be able to choose from a variety of instructive and interactive sessions addressing practical topics of interest to musicians\, pastors\, teachers\, interested laypersons and many others. We’ll also take up a challenge together: pray all 150 psalms. \nOnline registration is now closed. Limited walk-in registration may be available on July 9 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at a cost of $475. DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Board of Directors is scheduled to meet on Aug. 16-17\, 2024\, in St. Louis. \nThe Board of Directors is the legal representative of the LCMS\, and it is the custodian of all the property of the Synod — directly or by its delegation of such authority to an agency of the Synod. \nThe BOD exercises supervision over all the property and business affairs of the Synod\, except in those areas where it has delegated such authority to an agency of the Synod or where the voting members of the Synod\, through the adoption of bylaws or by other convention action\, have assigned specific areas of responsibility to separate corporate or trust entities. \nIn such circumstances\, the BOD retains general oversight responsibility as defined in Synod Bylaws.
