SUMMARY:'All Nations Sing' workshop
DESCRIPTION:LCMS All Nations Ministry is hosting an “All Nations Sing” workshop on Monday\, May 4\, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis. \n\n\n\nWith an emphasis on music sung in English\, Chinese\, and Spanish\, this event is a pre‑convention workshop of the Multiethnic Symposium of Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis. It’s also a celebration of 90 years of LCMS Chinese ministry and 100 years of Hispanic Ministry in the United States in 2026. \n\n\n\n\nThe workshop is designed to help people expand their repertoire of beloved and useful hymns and songs from different languages and heritages.  \n\n\n\nEvery week\, LCMS churches across the United States gather for the Divine Service in a wide range of languages — English\, Spanish\, Amharic\, Nuer\, Oromo\, Chinese\, Korean\, Hmong\, French Creole\, Arabic\, Vietnamese\, Tamil and more. \n\n\n\nExplore beloved musical repertoire from these diverse ministries. Presentations provide both musical insight and practical guidance for integrating this repertoire into congregational life\, worship\, and outreach. \n\n\n\nParticipants are encouraged to bring their instruments and join an interactive music lab\, where the emphasis is on singing\, playing\, and arranging music together. \n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\n\nDiscover from 1:30-3 p.m. — Hear introductions to other attendees and to a variety of Spanish and Chinese “psalms\, hymns\, and spiritual songs” (Col 3:16). This session also features presentations/discussions about various strategies for making music as churches of many languages and cultures.\n\n\n\n\n\nMusic Lab from 3-4:30 p.m. — Attend small and large group rehearsals for those who are helping lead music during the Tuesday evening Festival of Nations and Hymn Festival of the Multiethnic Symposium. SUMMARY:Latin America Missionary Alumni Event
DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Center—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is commemorating 125 years of mission work in Latin America and the Caribbean region (LAC) in 2025\, and current and former LAC missionaries will gather for an anniversary celebration on Aug. 7-8 at Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis. \nThe missionaries will reflect on their work around Latin America and the Caribbean\, and attendees can enjoy fellowship time while learning how the Lord continues to work in LAC. The Synod’s multi-generational mission work will be celebrated under the banner of “Remember\, Repent\, Rejoice.” \nAll LCMS missionary alumni of the Latin America and the Caribbean region are invited to attend this special event. Service includes that of a career missionary\, Globally Engaged in Outreach (GEO) missionary\, or Volunteer Youth Ministry (VYM) missionary under LCMS World Mission or LCMS International Mission. \nSchedule\nThursday\, Aug. 7 \n\n5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — Cocktail reception and dinner at Concordia Historical Institute (located on the campus of Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis)\n\nFriday\, Aug. 8 \n\n8:30 a.m. to noon — Missionary alumni presentations and roundtable discussions\n\n\nNoon to 1 p.m. — Lunch\n\n\n1 p.m. to 4 p.m. — Missionary presentations and roundtable discussions\n\n\n4 p.m. — Vespers with dinner reception to follow\n\nAttendance is free. SUMMARY:Installation of LCMS president\, vice-presidents\, secretary and board members
DESCRIPTION:The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will hold a service of installation for President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison\, six vice-presidents\, the LCMS secretary and several board members at 7 p.m. Friday\, Sept. 15\, at Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis. \nThe service\, which will be held in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus\, will follow the Order of Vespers. The public is invited\, and a brief reception will follow. \nPresident Harrison was re-elected to a fifth term in June. First-Vice President Rev. Peter Lange\, the five regional vice-presidents and Secretary Rev. Dr. John Sias were all re-elected during the 2023 LCMS Convention\, which was July 29–Aug. 3. \nNewly elected or re-elected members of the Synod’s Board of Directors\, Board for National Mission\, Board for International Mission\, and Commission on Theology and Church Relations\, will also be installed during the Sept. 15 service. \nIn addition\, board members will be installed for the Concordia University System\, LCMS Foundation\, Concordia Plans\, Lutheran Church Extension Fund\, Concordia Publishing House and Concordia Historical Institute. \nMore information will be shared as it is available.
