Hosted by LCMS Urban & Inner-City Mission, the Rev. Dr. Geoff Robinson will present a free webinar on “Recovering Our First Love for Evangelism” from 1–2 p.m. Central time on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022.
Tremendous growth happened in the LCMS from its humble beginnings in 1847 through 1970. But since 1970, the LCMS has been in a continual decline of membership. What happened?
In this webinar, Robinson will discuss how intentional evangelism in most LCMS congregations has declined greatly. Evangelism action and instruction — as evidenced by an examination of statistics, sermons preached, and former pastoral instruction manuals — show that the LCMS must reclaim her first love for evangelism.
Does the LCMS have the vision of the power of the Gospel as uniquely expressed by Luther’s biblical teachings? Do we have the same zeal to share the Gospel as in the past?
Robinson calls us to rejoice in the privilege of sharing the love of Christ with our neighbors, family and friends.
