The 72® Witness & Outreach Team Training

September 8, 2014 - September 12, 2014

What’s on your Retirement “Bucket List”?  Many retired church workers still want to be involved in service to the church but not on a full time basis.  The 72® Witness & Outreach Ministry, a program of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod would encourage a working partnership between retired servants of God and LCMS congregations.  The LCMS Office of National Mission is looking for volunteers to serve in its Witness & Outreach Ministry, The 72®.  The 72 provides training workshops to LCMS congregations throughout the United States, to:

  • begin, revitalize, enhance or expand their outreach ministry,
  • equip their members through Bible classes and workshops — specifically designed to meet the outreach needs and goals identified by the congregation — and
  • encourage their members to express their faith confidently in a non-confrontational manner.

Training Details: The 72 is seeking volunteers to train in the application of our program during the month of September 2014 at The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois. Your expenses will be covered by The 72 with the acceptance of your 72 Team Training Application.  Volunteers would then be available for two (2) training assignments per year.  These assignments can range from 2-4 weeks at various LCMS congregations who have requested to partner with The 72.  The hosting Congregations are responsible for housing, food and round trip transportation costs during the assignment.

Interested parties must complete and submit, by May 15th, 2014 , a Team Application which can be found at  www.lcms.org/the72.
