Concordia Bible Institute will present “The Bible and Homosexual Practice,” a seminar presented by Dr. Robert Gagnon, from 8:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, Wis. The seminar will be held in the Pharmacy Building (Room 008).
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod celebrates its birthday on April 26. Initial members, which included 12 pastors representing 14 congregations from Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, New York and Ohio, signed the church body’s constitution on April 26, 1847, at First Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago, Ill.
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and its Southern Illinois District are hosting a Prison Ministry Coordinators Conference on April 29-30 in Belleville, Ill. Free registration is available for district coordinators, designated representatives and anyone involved in Prison Ministry for an LCMS district. Registration deadline is April 1.
The LCMS Commission on Theology and Church Relations is scheduled to meet May 12-14, 2016, in St. Louis. The CTCR provides study documents, opinions and statements on theological issues. Established by the Synod in 1962, the commission provides guidance and leadership in the areas of theology and church relations. The commission also provides information, resources and evaluations concerning religious organizations and movements.
The Rev. Todd Kollbaum, director, LCMS Rural & Small-Town Mission, will present a webinar entitled “The Value of Strategic Planning” from 1-2 p.m. Central time on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
The LCMS Board for International Mission is scheduled to meet May 19-20, 2016, in St. Louis.
The LCMS Board of Directors serves the church as the legal representative of the Synod and the custodian of all of the property of the Synod.
The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s Commission on Constitutional Matters is scheduled to meet May 26-30, in St. Louis. The CCM meets four or more times a year and as needed to carry out its responsibilities.
The Commission on Handbook is scheduled to meet May 27-30, 2016, in St. Louis during Floor Committee Weekend. The COH meets at least four times a year, and it meets more often as necessary to carry out its responsibilities.
LCMS members ages 18-30 are invited to a Lutheran Young Adult Servant Event from June 2-5 in St. Louis. The event begins with a dinner on Thursday and concludes at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The LCMS Board for National Mission is scheduled to meet June 3-4, 2016, in St. Louis.
