In The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, August has been designated as Lutheran schools and Youth Ministry month. Congregations are encouraged to designate one Sunday in the month as School Ministry and Youth Ministry Sunday.

Council of Presidents: September 2014 – St. Louis, Mo.

The President, vice-presidents, and district presidents of the Synod comprise the 42-member Council of Presidents, which meets four times each year to provide opportunity for mutual counsel regarding the doctrine and administration of the Synod and to edify and support one another in the work that they share, those responsibilities found throughout the Constitution and Bylaws of the Synod.

Russell Helbig (Federal Prison Chaplain), small group and plenary discussions, worship, good food, and lots of opportunities to connect with those in similar ministries.
