SPM educational event — ‘Mental Health: We All Need It’
May 29 - May 31
LCMS Specialized Pastoral Ministry is hosting an educational event titled “Mental Health: We All Need It” on May 29-31, 2019, in San Antonio at the Oblate Renewal Center.
The event is designed to assist all of us in recognizing and supporting the qualities of mental well-being in others, and information will be shared to help when experiencing mental and spiritual challenges in our own lives.
Registration will open in early spring.
If you are interested in hosting a workshop, please send a proposal to email@example.com.
About the conference theme
In some ways, mental health is on a continuum. There are times in all our lives when we are more mentally stable than at other times. Various stressors effect mental health and well-being — especially in relation to who people are and how they relate to others.
Mental health is also is an important consideration in our ministry to others. In the various contexts in which we serve, we typically see people when they are experiencing some challenge with their mental health.
Mental well-being includes the way people think, feel and behave, and it also involves the ability to flourish spiritually and comfortably wear the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6).
