2016 National Rural & Small Town Mission Conference
November 3, 2016 - November 5, 2016
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Rural & Small Town Mission will host its 2016 National Conference on Nov. 3-5 at the Hyatt Regency Wichita in Wichita, Kan.
Building on the theme “Mission at Home: Standing Where You Are Planted,” the conference will feature the following plenary speakers:
- Rev. Dr. John Mehl, director of Mission Partnerships and Church Relations, Concordia University, Nebraska, Seward, Neb.;
- Dr. Mike Rodewald, executive director, Lutheran Bible Translators;
- Benjamin Winchester, senior research fellow, University of Minnesota Extension; and
- Adriane Heins, managing editor, The Lutheran Witness.
Participants will be able to choose from breakout topics, including witness and outreach strategies, mental- and spiritual-health issues, stewardship, educational opportunities, sanctity of life issues, opportunities for reaching young adults, ministry to those with special needs and many other topics affecting our rural and small-town congregations.
