About 2018 SPM Educational Events
LCMS Specialized Pastoral Ministry educational events are for ordained and commissioned specialized pastoral ministers within The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The events are also open to LCMS ministers and seminarians interested in SPM vocations.
There are many crises in ministry. Specialized pastoral ministers encounter personal and relationship crises on a regular basis. There also are community crises arising from natural and man-made disasters.
Some of the most complicated crises are those in the life of the minister. But when a crisis hits the personal or family life of a minister, he or she usually does not have the luxury of taking time off.
This year’s SPM Educational Events will address the nature of different crises, explore opportunities for ministry within crises, and look at how we can address personal challenges when ministry demands are relentless.
