Specialized Pastoral Ministry retreat: Danville, Calif.

May 16 - May 18

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Specialized Pastoral Ministry will host a retreat Tuesday, May 16, through Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Danville, Calif., at the San Damiano Retreat.

The theme is “Crossing the Lines — Approaching the Edge,” and the keynote presenter is the Rev. Larry Vogel, associate executive director, LCMS Commission on Theology and Church Relations.

  • The Rev. Joel Hempel, SPM interim director and religious endorser, and three colleagues will present challenging — and perhaps controversial — case material from their ministries.
  • Vogel will give his reflections, and peers will be invited to offer comments, ask questions and share wisdom in small, confidential groups.

Audience

Educational events are for those who serve in Specialized Pastoral Ministry: emergency services and institutional chaplains, pastoral counselors, and clinical pastoral educators.
