2024 Specialized Spiritual Care Ministry Conference

The 2024 LCMS Specialized Spiritual Care Ministry Conference will be held May 6–7 in St. Louis and online. The conference will begin at 1 p.m. on May 6 and conclude at 3:15 p.m. on May 7.
Those currently serving in Specialized Care contexts and those interested in learning more about this ministry are welcome to attend, either in-person or online.
The conference will include presentations on a variety of topics related to Specialized Care, opportunities to share experiences and insights, and the announcement of some exciting updates for our Specialized Care workers.
Featured presenters include:
- A panel featuring district presidents, including LCMS Missouri District President Rev. Dr. R. Lee Hagan and LCMS Northern Illinois District President Rev. Dr. Allan R. Buss;
- Rev. Dr. Jared Yogerst, director of spiritual care at Providence Place Senior Care in Minneapolis, Minn.;
- Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Gibbs, professor emeritus at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis;
- Representatives from LCMS Disaster Response; and
- Rev. Brian Heller, manager of LCMS Specialized Spiritual Care Ministry, and Deaconess Dr. Tiffany Manor, Office of National Mission managing director, Human Care and Ministerial Support.
In-person registration
The in-person portion of the conference, which will be held at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis, is limited to 110 participants. Registration, which is $50 per individual, includes dinner on May 6 and lunch on May 7. Attendees will also have access to view recorded sessions for 90 days after the conference ends.
The deadline for in-person registration is April 19.
Online registration
Online participation is unlimited. One online registration, which is $25, can be used by an individual, couple, family or group. Registration provides access to view recorded sessions for 90 days after the conference ends.
Registration will remain open throughout the event for online participation.
Discounts
Any professional church work student at a Concordia university or one of our seminaries may attend this conference for free.
